EAH Slack Wrap-Up - 17 May '23

Covering all the highlights and upcoming events from within EAH

Hey Community ๐Ÿ‘‹

Hope everyone is going well and UK adopters are all recovered from a big Accountex! It was awesome to see a bit of an international EAH connection happening โค

Just touching base with a quick #newsletter update for you all...

๐Ÿฆ„ Startup & EAH Update

Bit of an essay, but we wanted to let you know why the cohorts have been a bit quiet this yearโ€ฆ

It's been a tough start to the year for startups, with not a lot going in their favour. Itโ€™s certainly the hardest its been for years to get off the ground (and raise money).

Still, we are meeting new founders relatively regularly, and are keeping our standards high - we only want to present those who really have the potential to improve your lives, run by founders who really want to listen.

Still, we're confident it is just a matter of time before we have some new ones to present to you!

๐Ÿ‘‰ If you know any early-stage startups that you think could benefit, it always means a lot to get a personal introduction from you guys. Some of the best apps we've had, have been intros from inside the community ๐Ÿ™

In the meantime, we have a number of big projects we are continuing to work away on in the background. Some may never come to fruition, but if they do you will be the first to know ๐Ÿ‘€

We're also super focused on this community + how we can make it even more valuable (any suggestions, shoot them our way), as well as continuing to support the founders who are already working with us ๐Ÿค˜

๐Ÿš€ Upcoming Events

As part of the community-building element, we are putting a big focus on in-person catchups (of both accountants + startup founders). Its not always easy, but when we have a chance to do something we will always try!

UK - DAS

  • Yohan is organising a pre-DAS get together for everyone who will be in / around London the afternoon prior to DAS. If you're keen to join, checkout his post in #uk-adopters and put your hand up for an invite (or shoot Yohan a DM)!

  • EAH will also have a stand at DAS with RQ, FourFourFive & Aurelia - so drop by and say hey on the day as well!

AU - Xerocon

  • Jack is organising a similar event pre-Xerocon Sydney. Jump over to #aussie_kiwi-adopters adopters channel if you want to be invited and haven't put your hand up yet (or shoot Jack a DM)!

AU, NZ & UK - New Member Webinar

  • The new member webinar on June 22nd is absolutely packed full, looking forward to catching up with a bunch of you then!

P.s. Thanks to all who attended the RQ Graduation Webinar yesterday - Great session, awesome to have our first startup formally graduate from EAH ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿงฎ New Members

On the topic of new members... If you haven't noticed yet, we have had a few new members join us (@Shaun Farrugia @Lauren Bushby @Frances Kay) you can check out their welcome messages over in #intros.

Always awesome to see new people reaching out keen to be a part of this amazing group. We hope they will add as much value to the group as they get from it!

As always, we are conscious of keeping a lid on the size of EAH to ensure it maintains a level of exclusivity as well as quality! So in order to make room for these new members, we have said goodbye to a few past members who weren't as engaged. If you're still here, you're doing something right.

โœ… Slack Message History Survey

Finally, last week we asked for your thoughts on a super quick poll - thanks to everyone who took a minute to complete it ๐Ÿ™

Basically, we were trying to understand how many of you have run into issues with the 90-day slack history.

I was trialling an app called 'Waves' which would store the Slack history and auto-categorise it, at a much friendlier cost (compared to Slack pro). But for now at least, it sounds like this isn't too much of an issue for most of you, so for now we will leave things as they are.

Still, feel free to let us know in future if you start to run into issues with Slack's limited history

๐Ÿ™ Thanks again for everything, enjoy your week!

Cheers, Jack & Yohan
