EAH Slack Wrap-Up - 24 July '23

Covering all the highlights and upcoming events from within EAH

Hey Community ๐Ÿ‘‹

Just touching base with a quick #newsletter update for you!

๐Ÿ– EAH Startup Roast

We are continuing to try and get the word out - we have had a few expressions of interest, but only one proper applicant.

We will keep trying, and hope to find 3-5 who are in a position to pitch! We'll keep you in the loop as to the progress.

And thanks to everyone who has helped to spread the word ๐Ÿ™ We'll probably go for another big push next week!

๐Ÿš€ Startups

We continue to speak with startup founders, but its absolutely a tough market for them right now. Fewer people are quitting their cushy jobs for the uncertain and risky startup life, but we'll try and find the few that have and bring them to you!

Another big thanks to those who have recently introduced us to founders - always means a lot coming from you :the_horns:

๐ŸŽฅ Webinar Recording: Resourcing, Outsourcing & Offshoring

Thanks again to everyone who came - I think it was by far the most popular webinar we've had, we were close to 20 people for most of it!

Shout out to @Frances Kay and @Becki Roberts for presenting the idea for discussion, and kicking it off on the day. And massive thanks to all who came along to listen, ask questions and contribute experience.

We're glad that between startup programmes we can organise these kinds of open forum discussions for you all. Nothing quite like a group of accounting leaders and forward-thinkers in a room together. Its always a really valuable discussion, with lots for you all to learn from one another.

For anyone who wants to watch the recording, you can find it here (just over 1 hour), covering a whole range of topics:

  • Outsourcing v offshoring

  • AU/NZ v UK

  • Phillipines v South Africa v India v Elsewhere

  • Different models and training

  • Why BPOs are so great and make life so easy when you choose to exit and want to keep your team with you

  • Training for region-specific legislation

  • Managing GDPR

  • Building culture

  • Empowering offshore staff to become managers

  • And more!!

Any suggestions or ideas for the next discussion?
